power Bi pizza sales performance
The pizza sales performance dashboard will primarily focus on tracking and visualizing top pizza sales, along with several other related KPIs.
The core features of the dashboard will include:
- Displaying the total number of orders to provide an overview of sales volume.
- Calculating and presenting the average number of pizzas per order to understand customer ordering behavior.
- Tracking and visualizing total sales to give a clear picture of revenue.
- Identifying and showcasing the top pizza type, offering insights into customer preferences.
- Computing and showing the average number of orders per day for understanding daily demand.
- Highlighting the most popular days for orders, which can help in scheduling and planning.
- Unveiling peak ordering hours, which can be crucial for managing operations and customer service.
The main objective of this project is to harness the power of data and turn it into actionable insights. By creating this comprehensive PowerBI dashboard, we aim to help the pizza business optimize its operations, improve its marketing strategy, and ultimately, enhance customer satisfaction and profitability.

We want to answer,
How many customers do we have each day?
We don’t have a customers column, so we’ll create a measure for count distinct.
Now, creating a measure for total sales
We also want to calculate peak times based on time slots that we have from orders
So we’ll create a calculated column for time slots first:
I need to create a manual time sorting column as there is only one column that can be automatically sorted by time by PBI. The one that’s sorted is the time stamp from which we derive the time slots column.
We’ll also create a measure for average orders/day
If we want to know that average pizzas per order, we’ll create a new measure for that:
The rest is styling the dashboard…
